Vermelo was a Gear who fought during the Siege of Anvil Gate. He was a Medic who was wounded after a Siegebeast launched an artillery firebomb over the wall. He is helped back on his feet by Rua, and he rushes to the side of a wounded Gear trapped under a beam column. He stays there as everyone, including Victor Hoffman, Bernadette Mataki, Rua, and Culda, rushes up to defend the wall. He lived through the battle.
