The Tri-Shot is a heavy weapon featured in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5. It is a heavy triple-barreled chaingun that fires three bullets at once, boasting high damage and steady fire rate. Continual fire will cause the weapon to overheat, which in turn reduces the rate of fire over time as well as eventually firing only one bullet at a time.
In contrast to the Mulcher which has a higher rate of fire but less damage per shot, the Tri-Shot is much more deadly at longer ranges than its counterparts, as it is capable of gibbing targets at any distance. Compared to the Mulcher, is overheats far more quickly and takes longer to cool down, making its counterpart able to outpace it in consistent damage.
Guardian DeeBees have a Tri-Shot as their main armament, but they can also be wielded by DR-1s. In Gears 5, they are also equipped onto Sentinels.
Execution[]
The Tri-Shot's execution involves ramming the weapon's barrels into the downed enemy's head and pre-spinning them, causing the body to rotate with the barrels whilst gibbing the body.
Behind the scenes[]
- Very similar to the GAU-19.
