Gears 5 Train Bridge concept

Finalized concept art of the Train Bridge

The Train Bridge was a bridge in OZP-11 which was a secret cosmodrome that was built by the Union of Independent Republics for it's space program. It was part of a rail line that was connecting the Train Turntable to the UIR Rocket Hangar and at the time that it was built, it spanned a narrow strait that divided the nearby Vasgari port city's harbor from the sea. The bridge was protected by an Artillery Battery. The bridge could be raised or lowered from the Bridge Control House.

The Train Bridge as seen from the Bridge Control House

The Train Bridge was built during the UIR Occupation of Vasgar for OZP-11. It was controlled by the Bridge Control House. The structure was so massive that the normal machinery could raise it alone. Instead, a series of four small rocket engines are mounted on the sides of the adjustable span of the bridge and would fire when the bridge was needed to be raised to allow the ships to pass through the strait.[1]

By 42 A.E., the sea receded and transformed the coastal region where OZP-11 was located into a land-locked expanse of crimson desert. During the Mission to OZP-11, Garron Paduk's Nomads raised the Train Bridge to allow Delta-One to pass underneath with their Skiff to find an intact UIR Rocket at the Train Turntable. The Nomads left the bridge raised. Delta was unaware of this and activated a Rocket Transport Train which automatically began traveling to the UIR Rocket Hangar. When Paduk informed them that the bridge was needed to be lowered or the train would crash, Delta raced to the Bridge Control House. A group of Swarm had already destroyed the controls, but Delta salvaged the situation by using their guns to shoot the clamps that were holding the bridge in place. The bridge dropped into the correct position and the train passed over it safely.[1]
