The Torpedo was a weapon designed to sink any type of vessel, from simple merchant ships to warships. These underwater warheads is propelled via propellers rather than a rocket engine or a scramjet.
They were mainly used by submarines and some warships during the Pendulum Wars and the Locust War with lethal affect, as there are no ways to counter an active torpedo other than making it hit another object in the way.
Torpedoes are usually large (around 8 ft) and are tipped with enough high explosives to breach the hulls of enemy ships, causing them to sink.
Most torpedoes are guided by computer guidance and shaking them off was a difficult task. It was used by CNV Clement and the Zephyr to kill a Lambent Leviathan.[1]
Trivia[]
