The Torpedo was a weapon designed to sink any type of vessel, from simple merchant ships to warships. These underwater warheads is propelled via propellers rather than a rocket engine or a scramjet.
They were mainly used by submarines and some warships during the Pendulum Wars and the Locust War with lethal affect, as there are no ways to counter an active torpedo other than making it hit another object in the way.
Torpedoes are usually large (around 8 ft) and are tipped with enough high explosives to breach the hulls of enemy ships, causing them to sink.
- This weapon appears two times in Gears of War 3. The first is in the mission Bon Voyage in Act 4, and in the map Rustlung, where the torpedoes are placed in bays with four of them on each bay.
- The weapon reappeared in the Gears of War 4's alliteration of Rustlung.
