The Musket was a primitive muzzle-loaded, smooth bore long gun that was fired from the shoulder.[1] They were used by the guard station at Vectes Naval Base that predated the COG.[2]
These early form of firearms were highly inaccurate; slow to reload, and released a significant amount of smoke, obstructing the wielder's field of vision for a short duration.
While the musket balls were large in diameter and could rip-off chunks of flesh, they were often used as a last resort due to the obsolescence.
Behind the scenes[]
- The Musket is a real-life weapon that was used by many cultures and nations.
- It is unspecified if the Musket had a flintlock or matchlock mechanism.
- Although the large musket balls would have caused significant damage to even the hide of a Locust Drone, the high inaccuracy and one-minute reload would have made these weapons highly impractical unless used in large quantities of massed volley fire.
