Mrs. Cole was the mother of Augustus Cole and the wife of Mr. Cole.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Mrs. Cole lived in the city of Hanover with her husband and their son, Augustus.

Pendulum Wars[]

Mother of a Thrashball Star[]

Augustus Cole showed promise in his physical abilities and personality as a prominent player in Thrashball. Mrs. Cole encouraged her son to do what he loved and did best. Augustus went on to play professionally and eventually joined his hometown's team, the Hanover Cougars, as #83, nicknamed the "Cole Train".

Mrs. Cole constantly expressed pride in her son's success and fame. She and her husband remained married, but had moved to an apartment on the beach in the city of Jannermont. She often complained of the seagull droppings and fish smell, which Augustus Cole offered them a maid, but she refused.

Locust War[]

Emergence Day[]

Six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, an underground race known as the Locust Horde emerged on the surface of Sera and attacked every major city on the planet, killing as many humans possible in what would be known as Emergence Day, in which 25% of the human population was killed. The first city attacked by the Locust was Jannermont where Mrs. Cole and her husband resided.

Death[]

On Emergence Day, Mrs. Cole and her husband were killed by the Locust during the battle of Jannermont.

Legacy[]

Mrs. Cole's death heavily affected Augustus Cole. While his father was also killed in the Emergence Day attacks, it was his mother's that left him devastated and grief-stricken. It was also the main cause for him to quit Thrashball and join the Coalition of Ordered Governments Army in order to stop the Locust Horde and avenge his mother. Years into the Locust War, as a coping mechanism, Cole wrote to his mother constantly as if she were still alive.

Appearances[]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • In the original version of Cole's Thrashball scene in Gears of War 3, Cole's mother was initially supposed to make a voice appearance: "Son, I am so proud of you. Don't you ever forget that."
