Miku was a South Islander civilian who was recruited as a Gear by Sgt. Bernadette Mataki to help defend Noroa from Locust attacks.

Nine years after Emergence Day, Miku, Bernie, and two members of the 5th Kaian Grenadiers, Cpl. Hugo Muir and Darrel, were out scouting a nearby town when they encountered a group of Locust trying to scavenge a van. Determined not to let the Locust take anything useful, Miku and the others set up an ambush along the Locust's route back to their sinkhole. Miku went around behind the Locust, remaining unseen even by Bernie, while Darrel and Hugo took up flanking positions and Bernie climbed a tree to snipe. After Bernie sniped the lead Locust, Darrel and Hugo opened fire, cutting two more down. Bernie asked Darrel where the rest had gone, telling her that three of them were at the front of the road. Miku said he could flush them out, and told the others to get ready on both sides. He hit one with a crossbow bolt, pinning it to the truck, and the two other Locust broke out left and right, attempting to escape. Darrel cut the one on his side down while Bernie and Hugo took care of the other. Bernie then killed the Drone that Miku had pinned with her Longshot, with Miku remarking that he had been trying to save her some ammo, and as Bernie grabbed the Drone's gun and ammo, she remarked that she thought he had been trying to make some cultural statement. He told her she was taking the piss again, and she warned him not to play the race card with her again, and pointed at her tribal tattoos, reminding him that they were all Islanders. Miku said that she and other Galangi did not get bakuaia facial tattoos in an attempt to pass for white to fit in with the COG, but Bernie shot back that there had been other Islanders in the 26th RTI that did have them, like Padrick Salton and Tai Kaliso, who, like Miku, was also from Irohma Island. They then finished scavenging the Locust's equipment and headed back to their hidden encampment.

Upon reaching their camp's boundaries, Miku and the others were greeted by Jake, one of the sentries, who jumped out from a bush wielding a Boomshot. Jake asked them if they had killed any Locust, and Miku held up their haul for him to see. He and the rest of the squad then went to their observation post and began going through their haul, while talking and deciding that the time had come to leave Noroa and go to Galangi.

Personality and Traits

Miku was an extremely agile kid, and was able to stay hidden amongst foliage, even from Bernadatte Mataki.
