Biography

Pullback to Jacinto

Mendez was in charge of a vehicle checkpoint on the Ephyra-Kinnerlake highway. His job was to get a blocked bridge open for all Coalition military vehicles to retreat to Jacinto Plateau. His job was complicated by the fact that Chairman Richard Prescott had just announced that the Hammer of Dawn would be used to destroy all of Sera except the Jacinto Plateau, causing a panic among the citizens waiting to cross the bridge. He also had to deal with the fact that the Locust had trashed Andius, creating a traffic jam ten kilometers north of them. Mendez also received orders from Command to hold Sgt.Marcus Fenix for emergency evacuation to Jacinto. Marcus refused to go, and instead he and his squad helped Mendez clear the bridge for the convoy and civilian traffic.
