The launch trailer for Gears of War with the song Mad World covered by Gary Jules. Since the song had the atmosphere of Sera it fit perfect for the series. The song is also featured in Gears of War 3 twice, albeit an instrumental version. It first appears in the ending cutscene for Act 3 as Dom sacrifices himself to save his teammates. It also appears as a musical easter egg in Gridlock, and will play on a round if no ash statues were destroyed the previous round.
