Kalona was a major city in Tyrus. Six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, Kalona was the site of a major battle during Emergence Day in which the Locust Horde emerged from the Hollow initiated a genocide against the humans of Sera.

Six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, Kalona was one of nearly all major cities on Sera attacked by the subterranean Locust Horde of the Hollow in what would later be known as Emergence Day. During the battle, Pendulum War heroes Sergeant Marcus Fenix and Corporal Dominic Santiago of the COG Army fought the Locust forces.
