"Welcome aboard Tak tours. If you look to your right, you'll witness the total destruction of a bastard Swarm Hive."
—Tak after extracting Team Scorpio from a Swarm Hive hit by three Venom Bombs

Jasi Tak[1], usually just referred to by his surname of Tak, was a member of Bai Tak's family that journeyed alongside the rest of his family from Pesang with the help of Padrick Salton to Anvil Gate. He would grow up and become a King Raven pilot for the Swarm Hive busting three man Team Scorpio assisting his "uncle" Victor Hoffman.

Biography[]

Locust War[]

Jasi Tak was born several years into the Locust War to the Tak family, grandson to Pendulum Wars hero, Bai Tak. His early childhood years during the Locust War are unknown, but he and his family relocated to the COG garrison fortress, Anvil Gate, of Anvegad, Kashkur sometime in 15 A.E., as the Lambent Pandemic grew and threatened the remnants of humanity.

—Jasi, showing off the goat he killed while hunting to Hoffman and his father

Five months after Anvegad was reoccupied, Jasi went out hunting with Sgt. Bernadette Mataki and her dog Mac. They found a herd of goats, and Bernie had Jasi pick a goat to shoot, and gave him advice on how to fire. He killed one of the goats and celebrated, and Bernie congratulated him on his nice shot. After they retrieved the carcass, they began heading back to the fort, and Jasi asked Bernie if they could go hunting again the next day. Bernie told him they would have to keep their food supply high, and Jasi asked if they were doing okay there. Bernie told him it was harder than surviving on Vectes, but that it was good without Locust or Lambent. As they entered the fort, Jasi asked why it was called Anvil Gate. Bernie explained to him that the Coalition of Ordered Governments had been unable to cope with a fort named Anvegad, and Jasi asked what it meant. She told him it meant "keyhole", and that it guarded the entrance to Kashkur and that no one had ever gotten past it. They found Col. Victor Hoffman and Jasi's father shoveling snow, and Jasi showed off his kill to them. Bernie handed the goat over to Jasi's father, and he headed off with him to learn how to chop it up.[2]

Swarm Invasion[]

Skirmish in Pahanu[]

En route to Galangi, Team Scorpio's Condor was downed by a Swarm Flock and crashed on Pahanu. Scorpio managed to make their way to the wrecked Condor's cockpit where they discovered that the radio was still operational and a message was coming through from Tak stating that they had received the Condor's SOS and were requesting exact coordinates. Leslie Macallister was able to repair the radio and made contact with Tak who was pleased that they had made it. Jeremiah Keegan signaled their location to Tak by firing a flare gun into the air, but the flare also attracted Swarm forces to their location.

Scorpio held off the Swarm until Tak arrived in a King Raven Mark 2 and used his helicopter's rockets to clear out some of the Swarm. After Scorpio boarded his King Raven, Tak immediately took off under fire, only to have the Swarm forces be destroyed by an unseen creature shooting acid from the woods. Tak then flew Scorpio to Galangi to meet with Colonel Victor Hoffman and Doctor Hana Cole.[3]

Hivebuster Offensive[]

Hivebust of Sanctum[]

Tak transported Scorpio to outside of the main entrance to Sanctum where they repelled down from his King Raven. Once Scorpio was on the ground, Tak flew away.

After the mission failed to destroy the Swarm Hive, Scorpio escaped by riding Sanctum's giant metal door down a river of lava. Lahni Kaliso quickly called Tak for help with Mac adding that they were riding a giant door down a lava river, much to Tak's surprise. Jeremiah Keegan reported that they were moving south from the main entrance and Tak promised that he was on his way. Eventually, as Scorpio approached a Carrier, Tak arrived and killed the creature with his rockets. However, he warned Scorpio that they were approaching a lava waterfall fast and that they needed to take a leap of faith. Positioning himself in front of the lava waterfall, Tak enabled Scorpio to jump and grab onto the King Raven's rappelling lines. Once Lahni confirmed that they all made it, Tak returned them to Galangi.[3]

Mission to Weilehi[]

In order to find out more about the Wakaatu, Tak flew Scorpio and Hana to Weilehi, telling the team that once they repelled down, he would find a spot nearby so as to avoid any more last second rescues.

After saving Hana from a Snatcher that had captured her, Keegan signaled Tak with a flare, surprising him as Scorpio ended up on Pahanu using lava tubes connecting the two islands. Keegan dismissed it as a long story and informed Tak that Hana was hurt and that they needed a stretcher to airlift her out. Tak ordered them to hang tight as he was on his way. Scorpio held off the Swarm for the next few minutes until Tak arrived and lowered a stretcher onto which they loaded Hana. Tak warned that it would take him a few minutes to secure the stretcher and come back for them, but Lahni promised Tak that they would manage.

For the next few minutes, Scorpio held off the Swarm until, as they were close to being overrun, Tak returned and dropped his rappelling lines for them to escape. However, as Tak lifted Scorpio out of the volcano, his King Raven came under attack by the Wakaatu. Chased by the giant creature and unable to shake it, Tak ordered Scorpio to cut themselves free and timed it so that Scorpio rolled down a slope. Flying away, Tak stated that he needed to lose the Wakaatu before they could leave and ordered Scorpio to get to the high ground where he would pick them up. Scorpio eventually were cornered on a cliff by the Wakaatu, but Tak arrived and Hana used the King Raven's door gun to drive the Wakaatu off, allowing Tak to extract Scorpio and fly them back to Galangi.[3]

Mission to the Wakaatu Nest[]

In order to get a sample of the Wakaatu's venom, Tak flew Scorpio back to Pahanu and dropped them into the ruins where the Weilehans started their rite of passage, the Awakening. After Scorpio completed their mission, Tak presumably extracted them and the venom sample back to Galangi.[3]

Hivebust of Pahanu[]

While Scorpio allowed themselves to be captured by Snatchers in order to destroy the Hive on Pahanu, Tak waited for them outside of the Hive but the team's radios didn't work in the heart of the Hive. Fighting their way out through massive Swarm forces, Keegan called Tak for extraction and was informed that he'd be there in thirty seconds, but Keegan warned Tak that he'd better make it twenty seconds.

As the gas from the Venom Bombs spread throughout the Hive, Tak arrived in his King Raven Mark 2 and dropped his rappelling lines to lift Scorpio out just in the nick of time. As the gas emerged through the hole and the team climbed aboard the King Raven, Tak gleefully told them that if they looked outside, they could witness the Hive's destruction.[4]

Tak alongside Hoffman and Hana ready to take Scorpio to Bravelle

Hivebust of Bravelle[]

After the success of the operation, Hoffman had Tak prepare his King Raven to fly Keegan and Lahni back to the mainland. As Tak entered to report that he was ready, Hoffman, in the middle of offering Mac a new Hivebust, stopped him. With the whole of Team Scorpio accepting the mission, Tak flew them to Croya where Mac had him drop them off. Tak promised to hold down the fort and wished them good luck.[4]

After their successful mission, Scorpio returned to Croya where Tak extracted them. Tak reported in to base, stating that Scorpio was secure, that they were inbound and that the mission was a success.[5]
