Iron Jaws are a diverse group of large bony lobe-finned fish that are found throughout the Light Zone in the Serano Ocean. They are a common food source amongst fishermen and, in the post-Locust War, one of the main food items for the Outsiders in Riftworm Village.[1]

Iron Jaws greatly vary in size, from small Salmon-sized species 30 cm in length to large 8-feet grouper-like giants that could bite a man's arm off.
As their name suggests, these fish had a powerful bite, owing to its strong muscles. The strong jaw allows larger specimen of the fish to crack open armored organisms such as the Armored Fish with relative ease.
Iron Jaws occupy the middle of the food chain, becoming predator to smaller marine animals whilst being prey to larger animals such as sharks and Leviathans.

- Gutted and processed Iron Jaws can be found hung throughout Riftworm Village. The smaller species are usually found in open refrigerated crates.
