Icebound is a multiplayer map in Gears 5. It is set in an Outsider trading post built on the shores of a frozen lake amidst the skeleton of a Riftworm. The lake's frozen surface can be destroyed during combat, exposing freezing-cold water that can slow, damage, and even kill anyone who tries to move across it.

A blizzard will occasionally sweep across the map, obscuring vision, freezing over the lake, and making the ice unbreakable for the duration of the blizzard. The Cryo Cannon can also be used to freeze over exposed water.
