At some point, Leland was elected the Mayor of Landown. After the Battle of Landown and the onset of the Winter of Sorrow, he asked for the Coalition of Ordered Governments to deploy more Gears for the city's garrison. It is unknown if they sent them, but the city fell to the Locust, and it is likely that Leland was killed.
