The Elite Sniper is a stronger version of the regular Swarm Sniper. These Swarms are armed with an EMBAR Railgun and Shock Grenades.

Like the normal sniper, they only have one eye, however it is compensate by an armored cybernetic eye that covers the empty left eye socket.

The cybernetic eye is possibly what allows the Elite Sniper to aim the scopeless EMBAR with accuracy.

Strategy

Elite Snipers have more health than the regular sniper, making them on par with Drones.

Other than that, they function the same as a sniper; preferring hard to reach places that are in a covered, elevated position, where they can fire their EMBARs from afar.

They will stay behind cover until they take aim; the shine from their cybernetic eye betrays their position.

If you have a precision weapon, such as an EMBAR or your own Longshot, exploit their low health and aim for the head.

Multiplayer

• The Elite Sniper is a playable multiplayer character for the Swarm in Gears 5.

Behind the scenes

• Due to their more savage and bloodthirsty nature, placing punished Swarm soldiers in the backlines far away from the frontlines is a fitting punishment.
• It is unknown why Snipers have a asymmetric head. Whether this is due to cranial malformation/injury as a punishment is unknown.
