The East Barricade Academy (EBA) (East Barricade) was COG military academy in Ephyra, Tyrus. Originally established as a military fort, it later became the academy that educated cadets for commissioning into the COG Army. The academy also held a weapons division that was instrumental in the Pendulum Wars and Locust War. It was where the Hammer of Dawn was completed by Professor Adam Fenix.
In 10 A.E., the Academy was attacked by the Locust Horde during the Fall of Ephyra, in which they were able to penetrate the granite bedrock of the Jacinto Plateau. Four years later, the academy was a major site during the Lightmass Offensive. Until 42 A.E., East Barricade was in ruins as the COG attempted to rebuild EBA. When the Locust reemerged as the Swarm to renew their war against humanity, the Academy was selected to be a new Hive. During the Battle of Old Ephyra, the Academy was destroyed by the Hammer of Dawn.

A decade into the Locust War, the East Barricade Academy was infiltrated by the Locust during a coordinated attack on the Jacinto Plateau. Led by the ruthless General RAAM, forces at the East Barricade Academy soon fell. Due to the scale and size of the force that overtook the Academy, it is possible that there were research projects of even greater value taking place there. The bodies of several fallen Gears can still be found in the ruins, covered in blood and barely recognizable.
Lightmass Offensive[]
The blast from the resonator deployed at Lethia Imulsion Facility wasn't powerful enough to map even a fraction of the Locust tunnel network - the crew would need to find another way, and Baird thinks he has the solution. He hacked into a geobot and found an immense amount of data concerning the Locust tunnels. Anya has traced the data back to the residence of Adam Fenix, Marcus' deceased father.Delta Squad rides a King Raven helicopter to the East Barricade Academy, now ruined and heavily controlled by Locust, losing a second King Raven to an attack by Nemacyst air spores in the sky. The team is dropped off just outside the Academy and are forced to fight their way through massive numbers of Locust on their way to the mansion where Adam Fenix lived. Baird discovers an APC in need of repair at the back of the manor, and he and Cole rush off to repair it while Marcus and Dom search the manor for the data. After finding the hidden laboratory in the basement, they leave their cloaked robot, Jack, to download the data and defend the house against waves of Locust attackers. As Jack finishes downloading the tunnel maps, the two soldiers rush for the newly repaired APC behind the manor, with a gargantuan reptilian-like Locust called a Brumak already charging towards them. Delta Squad and Jack reach the APC just as the Brumak smashes through the manor, escaping the pursuing monster.
