Carew was one of the known prisoners in the Jacinto Maximum Security Prison. He was an insane mass murderer. During the time of peace of the Pendulum Wars, he was told by the voices in his head (strongly suggesting that he was suffering from Schizophrenia) to enter the Tollen branch of QuikiMeal and slaughter everyone in there with an automatic machine gun. He was taken to the Slab and confined within the Psych ward, along with the other mentally ill patients. During the blackout, the riot between the two factions of prisoners erupted, and Merino took Carew from his cell and out into the cell block where the chief warder Niko could only watch as Merino bent the whimpering Carew over a metal grating and slit his throat, like a pig at an abbatoir. His body was later burnt.
