The Brumak Rocket Mortar is one of the primary weapons of the Brumak used by the Locust Horde. Whilst it is less common and identifiable than the Brumak Rocket Launcher, they still present a significant threat to the COG.
These rocket mortars were built in response to the strong artillery presence utilized by the Coalition, most notable, the Hammer of Dawn system. The weapon system is a four-barrelled mortar that launch four rockets in-sync. The damage from these rockets was deadly to COG armored vehicles such as Centaurs and Armadillos, let alone regular infantry and could be fired from anywhere, even at close range.
Strategy[]
The Rocket Mortar launches four rocket markers at the beginning of each turn. These markers highlights the blast radius of the rocket, use this as a chance for your squad to evade the blast radius before it goes to the Brumak's turn. A constant tactic of evasion and surrounding the Brumak helps minimize potential damage and leave the Brumak's Imulsion tanks vulnerable from infantry flanking.
History[]
Assassination of Ukkon[]
During their mission to kill Ukkon, Mikayla Dorn had intel on heavy Locust activity in the city of Claybourne which included the presence of Ukkon himself. After fighting their way through the bridge, Gabriel Diaz, Sid Redburn and Mikayla Dorn located Ukkon executing captured Gears.
In her recklessness, Mikayla used her Longshort to blow off Ukkon's jaw. To everyone's surprise, this did not affect Ukkon as he rapidly healed from his wounds and called in a Brumak to deal with the group. The Rocket Mortar was used to try and destroy these gears, but they were too small and nimble, bringing down the Brumak after an intense firefight.[1]
