The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.
The Bombardment of Mercy was a Union of Independent Republics bombing campaign during the Pendulum Wars against Mercy, Tyrus of the Coalition of Ordered Governments in 9 B.E. The town managed to survive and rebuild, but the residents were still greatly affected. Many residents relocated outside Mercy.

In 9 B.E., the Union of Independent Republics (UIR) targeted Mercy, Tyrus - presumably for the prominent Mercy Fuel station and refinery of Imulsion. Using mortar shellings, the UIR bombarded mainly the town square. The residents of Mercy fled to the air raid shelters within the tombs of Mercy Church.
Aftermath[]
Many of the residents managed to survive the bombardment. Mercy managed to survive and was somewhat rebuilt, although it never recovered. Multiple residents decided to relocate from Mercy. Among them was the prominent Flores Family. However, the patriarch remained until his death sometime after 4 B.E.
Behind the scenes[]
- The Bombardment of Mercy was mentioned in a description for the Mercy map in Gears of War 3's Multiplayer.
- This area was once a bustling town square filled with people, but it never recovered from the UIR mortar shellings of the Pendulum Wars. Emergence soon followed, and the already heartbroken residents were shown no mercy by Locust forces, leading to an almost immediate evacuation. This large and open central square is surrounded on all sides by sheltered passageways and buildings. A raised dais yields powerful weaponry and a view of virtually everything within range, but the power located there must be hard-earned and well-protected to provide any lasting advantage.[2]
