The Asp Surface-to-Air Missile Turret is the primary weapon of the Asp. These missiles were meant to target high-altitude aircraft such as bombers, fighter jets and transport carriers. Each of these missiles are computer guided and could home-in to the nearest aircraft before exploding in a cloud of shrapnel.
The turret comes pre-loaded with eight of these missiles, one for each missile tube. The targeting computer is housed deep inside the Asp whilst the radar dish sits in between the four missile tubes. Despite their anti-air nature, these missiles could be used just as effectively on ground targets, albeit without the homing feature.[1]

Battle of Aspho Fields[]
During the Battle of Aspho Fields, Marcus Fenix hijacked one of the remaining Asps and used its weapons to devastate reinforcing UIR forces to pave way for the COG's own reinforcements.[1]
Mutiny at OZP-11[]
A number of Asps were deployed by the UIR garrison at OZP-11 in Vasgar during the Mutiny at OZP-11 in the final weeks of the Pendulum Wars. Their SAM Turrets are why a significant amount of UIR Transport Helicopters were found destroyed.[2]
