A Real Gun is an Easter Egg weapon found in Act 4 Storm Warning. It is a green, purple and white reskin of the Custom Lancer that fire paintballs.
A Real Gun deals the same damage as a lancer, the gimmick is the appearance of the paintball affect, spraying the walls and ground in a colorful rainbow pattern. It also has a large ammo reserve, starting at 1500 rounds, making A Real Gun a viable easter egg weapon.
Getting the Weapon[]
To gain A Real Gun, start Storm Warning and fight your way through the Swarm via the dead Siegebeast. Once you reach the control switch to give power to the Dam, go to the next area after destroying the first power generator.
On the right, high up there is a balcony where one can see a Pod. You know you are in the right place if you see a brief flash of Niles Samson on one of the screens on the balcony. Throw a grenade just to the right of the screen. A scream from a Screamer would alert that you have activated the easter egg.
Walk back down the stair and look to the right where the security door now flashes orange. A few Juvies would appear out of the door from within the security room. Quickly dispatch them, get the weapon and escape as quick as possible. If not, than the screens from the security room would flash Niles Samson's face before the door closes and you explode.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The toy-like decal and the paintball affect makes the weapon look like a toygun or a paintball gun.
- Due to its vast ammo supply, A Real Gun is one of the most useful easter egg weapons outside of its gimmick.
