I think a crossover with the Danganronpa series should be a thing. Imagine, the human characters from the Danganronpa series (not Monokumas) joining the Coalition of Ordered Governments, and working together to defeat the Swarm.
So we already know the swarm is evolved from the locust and we have swarmaks and the matriarch so what about other creatures from the hollow. 1# the corpser maybe it could have sharp crystallised legs and maybe it could roll and it could have its eyes as a weak spot and might even be able to lay eggs. 2# the reaver it could be used by scions or swarm drones/elite/imago and could take the normal mechanics of the reaver and have spines it could utilize in combat a bit like a pouncer or snatcher and could be driven by the player. Tell me any more and I will do them in the next one.

With Gears 5 out and Gears Tactics coming soon, I continued to think of how the Swarm can have more variety amongst their forces. So here are a few that could be interesting to see.
The Infected: Once human, these horrifying creatures act as a zombie that will fight for the swarm. There are 4 types of this creature and 3 stages to its infection. The infected would use pistols, pipes and assault rifles in combat.
The Regretful: The regretful are less infected people that can still speak and warn non-infected to stay away and even say that they don’t want to harm you. The Tick will only be present on the back of the head. The infection has full control of the persons motor functions and will slowly shut down the hosts organs.
The Insane: The insane are the middle stage of the infection, where the host is compliant with the parasite and will attack those who are non-infected whilst laughing uncontrollable. The laughter is used as a fear tactic by the parasite. The parasite at this point is the only thing keeping the person alive as all vital organs have been shut down. The organs will begin the morph into new organs for the parasite to live.
The Consumed: This is the final stage of the infection, where anything that made the host human is removed and replaced by a tumorous like creature that can use melee weapons or fire arms as they have been fused to the creature. The Tick has moved itself into the chest cavity, giving the creature a headless appearance.
The Consumed Carrier: This is a variation of the consumed that carries multiple of the parasites inside them. When close to a host or shot, it will burst revealing the parasites and allowing them to infect someone or something. The Tick has expanded and producing more Ticks.
Swarm Tick: The tick is the parasite that turns people into the infected. It appears as a five armed octopus with a single eye. Its arms are long with bone hooks on the end to latch onto its victim. Like Halo’s Flood, the tick will break the hosts skin to access the spin to gain control by using another appendage that will fuse to the spine and the nerves within it. It will then take control of the hosts body and eventually the mind.
Swarm Corpser: This is a maybe as we don’t know weather the corpsers crystallised like the brumaks or just died when the countermeasure was activated.
Swarm Suicide Drone: This is self explanatory as it is a drone that has strapped grenades onto itself. It charges its enemy and once it gets into range, detonates.
Scion Devastator: The Devastator are scions that makes use of a boom shield and Troika turrets that have been modified to be hand held. They would be used to disperse lots of enemies quickly while taking very little damage. In close quarters situations a well placed grenade would be the best way to get them to drop their shield opening them up to being shot.
Swarm Poisoner: The poisoner is a man sized spider like creature that produces a poisonous gas that is harmful to anyone without a gas mask or helmet. Their health would be similar the boomers from the original Gears (bullet sponges in other words).
Swarm Bio Mass: The Bio Mass is more of an environment changer as it slowly consumes an area turning it into the beginning of a hive. Whilst it can’t attack anyone directly, it could awaken sleeping drones and hive creatures to attack intruders. It could slow people down for the swarm to catch them. This is kind of similar to the corruption from Dead Space (before EA killed Visceral Games).
Hive beast: We have seen the hive beast before, but only at the end of Gears of War 4 and it was only the top half. So maybe we could see it again, but as the full creature. It would something that would appear in a cutscene or in the background of the campaign.
Thats all the ideas for new swarm unites that i could think of at the moment. Thanks for reading.

After Marcus Fenix stabbed Myrrah to death, where did the COG bury her body? Could Myrrah’s corpse be buried in any Locust Burial Sites like the ones in Tollen Dam and Azura?
Just wondering, she may lack a physical vessel but her consciousness still lives on, just how exactly? Is Myrrah’s consciousness kept intact within the surviving original Locusts or the Burial Sites that gradually transformed into the Swarm Hives?
Ever since the Wardens are in charge of scouting new locations suitable for new Hives, how are Swarm Hives constructed exactly?
Where in the world do these Swarm biomasses keeping coming from?
These red fleshly tendrils spreading all over the area swarming into building ruins, soils, where do these tentacles come from in the first place?
How are Swarm Nests built in the first place? Who forms the Swarm Nests and how many Juvies can fit into the Nest?
With Gears 5 out, the swarm have had a revamp from looking like anthropomorphic lobsters to actually looking like anthropomorphic lobsters that can use your head as golf ball.
The standard units like drones, hunters, and grenadiers, have all been made to look actually terrifying. Some have taken to bending bits of metal into helmets and armour, whilst others have had their gender changed. But whilst this is all good... there is the slight problem of that the swarm are lacking a wide variety of units.
The locust had the standard drone that then sub-divided into grenadiers, snipers, hunters, flame grenadiers, flame drones, miners and beast riders. Then they had the Kantus and armoured kantus, the boomer, the thumper, the maulers, the butchers, the flame boomers. Along with all their savage counterparts. The brumaks, the tickers, the wretches, the seeders, the corpsers, the reavers, krill, rock worms, bloodmounts, and more that I can’t remember the names of.
To put it simple... the swarm are meh when it comes to the variety of combat units. They have drones, grenadiers, snipers, hunters, Imagos, elite drones and they have scions or the crystal locust with boomshots, dropshots, mulchers , buzzkills and salvos. Then there’s the pouncers, snatchers, carriers, juvies/poppers, swarmuks, a kraken (currently fried calamari), leeches and the infected DeeBees. Not interesting when you compare the two.
So hears are some ideas for swarm who could cause havoc on the battlefield.
Swarm Rager: Like the locust rager, they can transform into near unstoppable monsters that can slash with sharp claws. When in pre-rage form the would use either the breech shot or a new weapon entirely.
Swarm Resurrecters: These are drones that have an ability to resurrect dead or near dead swarm to fight once more. Their ability can only work if the body is completely intact (no headless chicken swarm, thank you). This means targeting them first would be priority. The would carry a Gorgon pistol or something new.
Creepers: A giant fly like insect that can shot quills and can blend into it’s surroundings, but is weak to most weapons.
Crawlers: A spider like creature that uses webbing to capture it’s victim. It is the height of a man and is quite durable when under fire.
Swarm Sirens: A unique verity of drone that has a tail instead of legs and is located in water or in lakes with thin ice. The carry a harpoon like weapon or nothing and drag those unfortunate enough, under water or of boats.
Swarm Bruiser: A heavily armoured enemy that acts like both a boomer and berserker. The can shoot at with a heavy weapon before charging at you. They would carry any heavy weapon.
Swarm Knights: A heavily armoured foe that uses a breaker mace, a cleaver, a flail, a boomshield and other melee weapon. They would be the non-Scion version of the wardens. They would be field commanders and would show higher thinking. When combined with the resurrecters, they can become almost unstoppable. They are covered in full metal armour.
Basilisks: A serpent like creature that acts like a mini boss. They attack with a venomous spit that can cause the player to become stuck for 30 seconds. Being stuck is a death sentence if their are other enemies about that will continue to shot you.
Swarm Warlocks/Witches: A tall, kantus like variant of a drone with the ability to teleport a short distance, use poison/ink grenades, and cast powerful illusions that can cause the player to see multiple of them. They appear in gas mines or where there is a high concentration of hallucinogenic fungi spores.
Prowlers: A four legged beast that can be used as a mount in cavalry units. They have claws and quills to attack people with.
That is just a few ideas for the swarm and how they can be made both more of a problematic enemy and how they can look terrifying and not like lobsters.
